Mexican Steak with Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients

8 ounces sliced or quartered mushrooms

1 sliced thinly onion

1.5 flank steak

2 sliced bell pepper

3 cloves garlic

cooking fat

¼ teaspoon cumin

1 avocado, sliced into wedges; (optional)

¼ teaspoon chili powder

coarse salt & fresh ground black pepper

For steak marinade (ingredients)

coarse salt & fresh ground black pepper

1 teaspoon chili powder

3 tablespoons lime juice

¼ cup olive oil

4 minced, cloves garlic

1 teaspoon cumin

Cooking Directions

Toss all the marinade ingredients in a plastic or glass container and add salt and pepper to taste.

Add the steak, mix until it is completely coated, and keep in the ref for at 15 mins, up to two hours.

Heat your grill to medium-high heat.

Put the steak on the grill.

Grill the steak on each side until it reaches the desired tenderness or for five to six minutes.

Once done allow the steak to rest on the cutting board for 10 mins.

In a skillet, melt some cooking fat over a medium-high heat.

Add the bell peppers, garlic, and onions and sauté for 5 mins.

Add the mushrooms and cook for another two mins.

Add the chili powder and cumin. Season with pepper and salt, cook for another two minutes and remove from heat.

Cut the steak into thin strips.

Serve the steak with freshly cut avocado slices and vegetables.
